Daden Emerging Technology Seminars

Daden are hosting a series of seminars to help businesses develop a greater understanding of how the emerging technology of virtual worlds and virtual characters (chatbots) can be used.

We have worked on virtual world and virtual characters projects for a wide variety of public and private sector organisations, in the UK and abroad, and principally within the areas of learning and training, built environment visualisation, and collaboration and data visualisation.

We are holding Daden's first seminar in London on 7th October  2010 with two half day seminars on chatbots and training & education in virtual worlds.

Introduction to chatbots & their uses within business

Chatbots can fulfil a number of roles on your website or in your virtual world. They can just provide a welcome & some initial information, they can provide users with the information they need without having to hunt through the site or presence, or they can even be used to collect information and carry out surveys. They help with improving sales and reduce human staffing costs.

This seminar is aimed at anyone who wishes to learn more about how chatbots & virtual characters can be used for serious business. The seminars willl provide insight:

  • into what chatbots and virtual characters are;
  • into how they are being used;
  • into the benefits of chatbots;
  • into how chatbots can deliver efficiency savings;
  • Guest Speaker: John Dowd, Wolverhampton University

Also client case studies will be discussed during the seminar.

Registration is at 9am with a 9.30am start to the morning seminar. The last talk of the seminar finishes at 12.15pm followed by networking lunch.

Training & education in a virtual environment

This seminar looks at the ways virtual worlds are being used to support training & education initiatives within organisations and the efficiency savings such training can bring. Daden will talk about how virtual worlds can reduce training costs and provide insight into how they can be used within a business.

The seminar is aimed at anyone who wishes to develop their understanding of using virtual worlds to support training and simulation. The seminar will:

  • provide a quick introduction to virtual worlds;
  • demonstrate ways of using virtual worlds for training;
  • discuss benefits of using immersive environments for training;
  • Guest Speaker: Luke Woodham, Technical Developer at St George's of University London.

Also client case studies will be discussed throughout the seminar.

Registration is at 12.30pm, with a networking lunch, with the afternoon seminar starting at 13.30pm. The last talk of the seminar finishes at 16.30pm.

The AM and PM seminars are £25 (inc refreshments & lunch) each or £40 for the whole day (inc refreshments & lunch). Payment is accepted either via Paypal and Cheque or you can request an invoice to be sent out.
